About Us
For over 30 years Bardstown Gymnastics now Fit Kids Sportscenter has proudly served Central Kentucky building healthy and responsible kids.
- 1980: Bardstown Gymnastics began operation at the Bardstown Recreation Department.
- 1984: A 6250 Square foot facility was built to meet the expanding needs.
- 2002: 3000 Square feet was added to the existing facility to meet the growing needs of the cheerleading and youth fitness programs.
- 2004: Bardstown Gymnastics changed its name to Fit Kids to reflect the variety of services that have evolved.
- 2005: Fit Kids celebrates 25 Years of service.
- 2010: Fit Kids celebrates 30 Years of service. Opening new facility in the Lebanon / Campbellsville area.
Vicki Smith, Owner
- Physical Therapist in the Nelson County and Bardstown school systems working with special needs children.
- Vicki has recently provided the United States Association of Gymnastics (USAG) with a sports conditioning program that they are providing nationally as part of their youth fitness program.
- She is a Nationally ranked gymnastics judge who has judged the SEC championships, NCAA Regional and National Championships over the past 10 years.
- She has coached numerous gymnasts and cheerleaders who have gone to participate in college.
- Vicki competed in the 1972 Olympic Trial Semi-finals.
- She was the first female in the state of Kentucky to receive an athletic scholarship in 1974.
- Vicki's present goal is to challenge each child at their maximal fitness level and to help them develop a life-long, healthy attitude toward fitness.
Bill Smith, Operations Manager
- Bill coached for 20 years before retiring from coaching 2 years ago.
- He coached gymnastics from the beginner level through Level 10.
- Presently he is the operations manager of the facility and keeps everything in working condition.
- Bill and Vicki have been married 25 years and have 7 children.
